  • “I bought this album as a fredshman in college and have loved it ever since.

After singing many of the songs through the years, two daughters eventually came along and “”Wonderful Baby”” was their lullaby. Now they plan on singing it to their children!

“”The Legend of Andrew McCrew”” is a wonderful story-song ala Dylan&#39s “”Tangled up in Blue”” (but not quite so blue!)

I find myself singing “”Great Big Man”” in the shower all the time.

In my opinion, “”Homeless Brother”” is the third of three terrific albums in a row from Don (following “”Don McLean”” and “”Playin&#39 Favorites””).

It&#39s a tough CD to find but it IS available. Get it!

  • “If you ever thought of picking up a guitar and writing a song..you should listen to don mclean first…you may put them down again…Tangled like a spider in her hair…i mean, who but McLean could write this stuff..if talent alone were enough bring fame…this guy would be king…better than any singer/songwriter you could think of with the possible exception of Tom Waits and Nick Drake. • “Definitley one of my favorite albums. A masterpiece of the American experience. It gives as wide a range of emotions as Simon and Garfunkels&#39s “”Bookends””. You can laugh, smile, and then cry, all in a little over a half an hour. It also, incidentally, is great music to juggle to. (Rated 5 out of 5)”

  • “I lost this album many years ago, and still remember most of the tracks. Does anyone know the song that starts;”” I went down to the sea and I met this lonely man””. (Rated 5 out of 5)”

  • I bought this many years back in response to Don&#39s Top Hits. It was different and very distinctive. The album got snagged by a friend but the melodies and words linger in my mind and in my singing. Gotta get it again. It talks the homeless condition in a special way and brings interesting dimension to a different way of living. (Rated 5 out of 5)

  • “Absolutely one of his finest, if not best-known. Splendid story-telling, his voice is in true McLean form.

Andrew McCrew is actually based on a true story.

Some ballads, some terrific driving music and some excellent rock round it out! (Rated 5 out of 5)”
