  • “I feel very privileged to own this album, not only because Don covers some classic tracks in his own inimitable way, but because, thanks to my friend Mary in Nashville, I was given this album by Don himself, signed, and handed to me personally by Tony Migliore, at the London concert in June 2000.

Having heard Don perform a handful of these songs Live, both at the Sound Check and In Concert, the memories flood back through &#39Singin&#39 The Blues&#39, &#39Devil Woman&#39 and &#39You Gave Me A Mountain&#39.

Pure Country, delivered to perfection, my favourite is &#39El Paso&#39, with &#39Among My Souvenirs&#39 and &#39Kaw Liga&#39 right up there too.

Great covers – it&#39s been a long wait since &#39Playin&#39 Favorites&#39 but well worth the wait. (Rated 5 out of 5)”

  • “I too have just acquired this album… I second everything that Cookie said, even to the best songs! They are all SO wonderful! This is the best cover album I have heard ever- such gentle, beautiful music… absolute bliss. A million out of five, as always! You&#39re a legend, Don! (Rated 5 out of 5)”

  • “I purchased this CD at his concert in Ludington, Mich. I was not familiar with Marty Robbins until Don talked about him. I was very impressed with the album. I would give it a 5. Don&#39s version of these songs is beautiful. (Rated 5 out of 5)”

  • “At last! Don seems to have passed through the Curb cloud and come up with something decent. This has a lovely sound: light of touch, yet full of depth. Don&#39s voice sounds better than for ages and (apart from the last track which has terrible lyrics) he&#39s chosen the songs with skill. (Rated 4 out of 5)”

  • “Got copy of cd at concert in Lincoln city Oregon. Listened to it on the way home, and have listened to it over and over again. What a great production of Martys works. Don, your voice is strong and beautiful and the concert was wonderful. Hurry back to Oregon I miss you already. Thank you for sharing your special gift of song and emotion and thank you too for the autograph and the smile. (Rated 5 out of 5)”

  • “I&#39d like there to be a sequel to this album. I think there are some wonderful songs Don left out. “”Big Iron”” is one of them.
This album is still beutiful though.
Keep the great albums coming Don! (Rated 5 out of 5)”
